Me: Hey Stevie, how about you go and get us some ice cream.
Steve: Umm, really? Right now?
Me: Yeah, it's my birthday month, remember?
Steve: *sigh* Alright...
Aside from being my birthday month, May also contains Mother's Day. Now that I'm a mother, I really REALLY get to have ice cream whenever I want during the month of May! And, to top things off, a handful of my very very very favorite people came and visited recently which just made May 2009 sparkle. I've been slacking on my blogging, for many reasons (ahem...Delaney), but mostly I've been putting off this post because I've been waiting for my friends to post pictures on their blogs that I could then swipe. I do that a lot.
Our dear dear friends from college started off the visits of our favorite peoples. Candace and Joel came and spoiled us by making me lunch, giving me hand massages, and making me giggle like only comfy cozy old friends can. They also lovingly doted on Delaney, who fussed a lot while they were here. They didn't even seem phased by her crankiness.

Candace is quite the photographer, and I just love this picture that she took of the Lanesters
Exactly one week after Candace and Joel came to visit, my best friends from Oregon came on by. Alison, Beka, and I have been BFF's since the beginning of time, and I have missed them something fierce, especially lately. They also spoiled me by cooking us dinner, buying me cherry coke and ice cream, and loving on Delaney. I loved every minute of it.
Girls just want to have fun!

Mother's Day was also a very special day for me. Many wonderful things happened.
1. Delaney slept like a champ the night before!
2. Steve made me pancakes for breakfast
3. Delaney and Steve bought me flowers from the farmer's market
4. Delaney and Steve also bought me a little vintage watering can that I've been eyeing and some Burts Bees therapeutic bath crystals
5. We had a picnic in the park for lunch
6. Steve's family grilled up some carne asada for dinner
7. I got to take a bath that evening with said bath crystals. WOW!

That about sums up what we've been up to lately. Stay tuned for a blog about our wonderful garden!

Be careful, Karen. Steve can pull the 'whole month' thing on you, too. He'll get all of April and all of June. It just may bite you in the butt! Just a warning. Love you guys!
